Jean (Valentina) Schoenthal (D’Angelo)
AVON - Born February 14, 1935, entered eternal life with Jesus on May 27, 2022. Jean was a lifelong resident of Avon, dedicated to her family and community. She was the youngest of ten children to Antonio and Vincenza (Campo) D’Angelo.

Jean was a pioneer of women in business in Avon; from working at her family’s business, Avon Macaroni Co., to owning Avon Building Supply, to her 33 years as proprietor of Avon Floral World. Her customers brought her joy, and she was known as the matriarch of the Genesee Street business district.

Jean is survived by devoted daughters Lisa and Leslie Schoenthal, grandchildren Lauren and Colin Karpinski who were her pride and joy, sister-in-law and sister-in-heart Judy D’Angelo, loving nephew David (Sue) Rumfola and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jean joins in heaven her parents, nine siblings, companion Harrison Van Beuren and many special friends. Special thanks to Dr. Megan Lyons for her care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5 - 7 PM at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home 350 Genesee Street, Avon. Her Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Agnes Church, Avon. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery.
