Lima - Died suddenly on December 17, 2021 at age 77. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dinah (Preston) Mayer; children, Becky (Ken) Cook, Dennis (Susan) Mayer; sister, Carol Cutler; grandchildren, Jason, Emily, Amanda, Julianna, Rachel; several nieces and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his son, Mark Mayer.
Bruce served on the Lima Town Board for 28 years. He worked for Wegman Foods and retired after 25 plus years. He was a Vietnam veteran. Bruce was a tireless volunteer for several organizations in the community and found joy in doing it.
His memorial service will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Avon. Private interment Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lima. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Avon, 5605 East Avon Lima Road, PO Box 189 Avon, NY 14414 or the Lima Food Pantry PO Box 556 Lima, NY 14485 in his memory.
