AVON - Died peacefully surrounded by family members on August 11, 2021, at age 89. He is survived by Mary Joan Fitzgerald Orman, his loving wife of almost 63 years and best friend for more than 73 years; brother, Dr. Albert Orman; children, Margaret (Paula) Orman, Catharine (Richard) Young, Michael Orman, Mary Orman, Anne (Kerstin) Coleman, Julie (Matthew) Maurer; grandchildren, Maureen (Jerry) Young, Patrick (Sydney) Young, Richard (Kaitlin) Young, Nathan Maurer, Sean Maurer, Sarah Coleman, Sylvie Sorensen; great grandson, Rowan Young; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Gwendolen Orman; brother, Frank Orman; sister, Barbara Nostrant; grandson, Kevin James Young.
A graduate of Cornell University, Jim was a hard working farmer and devoted family man who also made time for substantial civic activity, serving on the Avon Central School Board, the Avon Town Board, and for many years as Avon Town and Village Justice. The family wishes to thank Dr. Shantonu Ghosh for his exceptional care and support during Jim’s final years.
His Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 16, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Agnes Church, Avon. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Avon. Contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to St. Agnes School, 60 Park Place, Avon, NY 14414 or St. Joseph’s House of Hospitality, 402 South Ave. Rochester, NY 14620.
