Obituary for Ronald L. Wright

A longtime resident of Avon, NY, Ron was born at home in Joy, NY on March 29, 1943. He attended a one room schoolhouse there, graduated from Marion High School and was a retiree of the Ironworkers Union Local 33. Ron was a lover of all animals, domestic and otherwise, and took great joy in feeding and watching “his” birds. He always enjoyed a good game of chess or backgammon with players of any level.

Ron was a kind, generous and devoted family man. He was predeceased by his parents, Emma and Jacob Goossen, his in-laws, Mabel and Wayne Hildebrant, and a dear Aunt and Uncle, Eleanor and Jacob Blankenberg. He is survived by his wife, Gail, and beloved children David (Susie) Wright of Newport, Michigan, Anne (Steven) Shank of Jericho, VT, and James (Susi Hastings Curran) of Bloomfield, NY. He was the proud grandfather of Lauren and Joseph Wright (MI), Dan (MA) and David Shank (ME), Hannah and Jacob Wright (VT) and Jamie, Brandon and Trevor (MI). Also survived by the latest in a long line of overindulged pets, Teddy and Hootie. Memorials may be directed to Avon Central Presbyterian Church or Livingston County Humane Society. A service of remembrance will be held in July or August.
