Obituary

My beloved son, Brandon James Dalcin, died unexpected on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at the age of 26.

Brandon’s sister Chelsey passed away in May of 2019 and that took a huge toll on him both mentally and physically. I loved him the moment he was born and put in my arms with his bright blue eyes and toe-head blonde hair. As he got in his teens he loved to skateboard, snowboard, ride his bike and hang out with the massive amount of friends that he had. Our house was always filled with kids visiting, eating, spending the night and pure laughter. Happiness. He would always say “I love you” to me and his Grandma Connie every time he visited or hung up the phone. He and his sister are now together and free of their addictions.

Brandon is survived by his nephew Cameron that he loved with all of his heart. Mother Amy (Dan) McFadden, Father Shad (Gini) Dalcin, Grandma Connie (Dan) Watkins, Grandparents Ron (Nancy) Browne, Grandparents Larry (Sherry) Dalcin, Grandma Lynne Warboys, and many family and friends.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later determined time by the family.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation on Brandon’s behalf to the Avon Interfaith Council (Food Pantry) Avon 1761 Athena Drive Avon, New York 1441

Amy, I am so sorry to hear this news. I know you loved him very much and wanted the best for him always. I will never forget our chats when you would visit me at work. I hope you can find some peace in knowing Brandon is at peace now. Take care of yourself and hopefully sooner than later we can meet up again and exchange some laughter and loving memories. Take care, Love Margaret-Polyfuison

There’s a ridding of self for our children. We remain a whole person. Intact. Full heart and soul. But something happens in the breaking of our bodies, as our mid section swells and bears the weight of life, we are burdened and broken so they may grow. Our souls ties are born far before birth, and little pieces of ourselves are shared between hearts. It’s a unique and special bond between a mother and her child.

And we give our whole selves to each child. No matter how many children come before or after, each child is tied to the mother’s whole self. No matter if that child is nameless, no matter if their form is tainted, no matter if they will never lock eyes, the soul ties string and weave every which way, so hearts and souls are connected without ever breaking.

And sometimes, these ties are stretched, over chasms of time and worlds, as a soul’s heart beats one last time.

Those soul ties don’t know the difference. Those soul ties extend and expand and strengthen no matter what the distance.

When a child dies, a mother is still tied to that child. Souls, tied together across universes. It doesn’t matter the age when they passed. It doesn’t matter how long ago it happened. It doesn’t matter— none of it. Their souls are forever tied.

That’s the love of a mother. That’s the love that is more powerful than death. That’s the heart that breaks and keeps breaking until her arms are filled again. That love. That tie. Soul to soul. Mother to child. It knows no discrimination based off of age, health, or time, it just is, and it always will be. Their souls are forever tied, and there’s nothing that can break them.

That’s the beauty of unconditional love.
