Oscar W. Erickson
West Bloomfield - January 4, 2020 at age 97. He is survived by his sons James W. Erickson of Penfield, Steven J. (Sharon) Erickson of Honeoye Falls, Dan (Susan) Erickson of West Bloomfield; 7 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Oscar was predeceased by his wife Jane w Erickson in 2004; parents Eric John and Elizabeth Erickson; brothers Edmund, Walter, Eric Erickson; and a sister.
Oscar was born on December 28, 1922 in Jamestown, NY. He attended local schools and obtained a bachelor's degree from RIT. He worked for Otis Elevator as a supervisor of Reconstruction for 45 years until retirement. He also had a love for wood working, and painting. In his early years he was a farmer from 1964 to 1972. He raising crops, cows and veal calves. After retirement he helped his son at the Leif Sales and Service Shop in Honeoye Falls. He assisted in sharping chainsaw and mower blades as well as repairing small engines. He was active in the business right up until his death.
Oscar was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and was in Germany during WW II in the 9th Army 717th tank battalion.
Services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
