James P. Murphy

AVON - Died unexpectedly after a short illness on November 27, 2018 at age 68. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Beverly (Walrath) Murphy; daughter, Tracey (Paul) Gernatt of Eden; son, Patrick Murphy of Avon; sister, Susan (David) McCormick; brother, Paul Murphy; grandchildren, Libby, Ethan Gernatt; mother-in-law, Millie Walrath; several nieces and a nephew.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Helen Murphy; sister, Carol Taylor; brother, Richard Murphy.

Jim worked for Lightnin Mixers for 33 years, and he was a avid fisherman.

Family and friends are invited to call Sunday 1-3 PM at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 350 Genesee St., Avon where his Funeral Service will be held following calling hours at 3 PM. Interment, Avon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clear Path 4 Vets, c/o Harley’s Heroes Program, 1223 Salt Springs Rd., Chittenango, NY 13037.
