Obituary for James M. Steele

Avon: September 7, 2015 at age 85. . Died peacefully surrounded by his family

after a short illness. Born November 12, 1929. Jim was predeceased by his

beloved wife, Kathryn Joan. Jim leaves behind his 4 children; Dan (Crystal) Steele, Sheri Brege,

Sue (Randy) Meyer, Gary (Sheila) Steele; his sister, Betty (Chuck) Dyer; grandchildren, Jacob &

Holly Steele, Chris (Sara) Brege, Ashley, Vicki and Eric Meyer, Amanda and Jimi

Steele; and great grandchildren: Tyler, Colin, Marissa, Jackson, and Andon Brege;

and Olivia Willison.

Business: Farmer, member of the Upstate Milk Cooperative, Founder and builder of De-Pel

Inc.; Dehydrating and Pelleting of alfalfa. Steele Brothers Trucking and Bulk Milk

Hauling.

His public service included: Avon Town Justice, Avon Central School Board,

Avon's longest serving Town Supervisor, Chairman of the Livingston

County Board of Supervisors.


Family and friends may call on Friday, September 11 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the

Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 350 Genesee St., Avon. His Funeral

Service will be held Saturday, September 12 at 10 AM at the First Presbyterian

Church, 5605 East-Avon Lima Road. Interment will follow at East-Avon Cemetery.
